MUZIK COPYR. 1996 JAY REDDEN ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
MUZIK (TM)
THE IDEAL
PERSONAL MUSIC INVENTORY
PROGRAM FOR PC'S
MUSIC TITLE:
Music title, package (CD, LP, RECORD, ECT), music or song artist.
MUZIK IS CASE SENSITIVE:
Which means that smith, Smith, and SMITH are three different names.
It's best to make your enteries in upper case; however, to solve that
problem, MUZIK converts lower case to upper case as you type which
looks a lot better in the report.
MUZIKDAT.EXE
To create a new muzik.dat file run MUZIKDAT.EXE at the C:\MUZIK>
prompt. Do not run MUZIKDAT.EXE unless you want a new muzik.dat
file because it will OVERWRITE or replace the old one causing you to
lose any data in the file.
USING MUZIK.
Simply select what you wish to do. Add new records, view the
inventory listings by title, or view the listings by artist,
delete a record, or modify a record.
When using DELETE A RECORD or MODIFY A RECORD, the first entry of the
last title you entered will appear. The prompt will ask DELETE THIS
RECORD (Y/N)? or CHANGE THIS RECORD (Y/N)?. If this isn't the record
you wish to change or DELETE press N then Enter, the prompt will then
ask SEE NEXT RECORD (Y/N)?, so you press Y and Enter and the next
name will appear. Continue these steps until you get to the record you
want to Delete or Modify.
If you are in MODIFY A RECORD and have pressed Y for CHANGE THIS
RECORD (Y/N)? another list of options will appear:
ENTER THE NUMBER OF THE FIELD
TO CHANGE (1-3) ZERO QUITS
you will see the full list of the record with the numbers 1
to 4 to the left. If you want to change the TITLE press 1 and
fill in the prompt, you may change every field listed if you wish.
Once you have finished making changes press zero and Enter and you
will return to the menu.
SHORT-CUT HINT:
When you are using DELETE A RECORD, or MODIFY A RECORD you don't need
to type in the full name, just a few letters of the title will usually
get the one you want or close to it.
